My Nissan is still haunting me. No wonder the owner let it go back. Bad coil. Botched distributor install. And after I got all that...went for a test drive to assess the rest, and started running very poorly, and obviously very rich. A snack on the old MAF confirmed it was bad. Another piece of the puzzle replaced. Now for the A/C...

I build transmission lines for a living . I am a crane operator. We are currently building 50 miles of line in the Tuscaloosa, Fosters area of Alabama . Here's a new 140 H frame weighs 77,000lbs per pole . The steel tower is what it replaced , it crumpled on the ground now.

37+ years union Elevator Constructor. 5 years ago I bought out a small union shop. Heres a couple pics of my job.
Heres a modernization we just finished last year. All new overhead equipment

A modernized hydralic system


This a current job we are doing. (Above )Removing the old hoist machine. This machine has millions of miles on it, 12 story building built in late 60's.
( below) This is what will replace it.

Also I'm an instructor in our apprenticeship program. I teach on the local level ( 1 night aweek) and also spend 10 or so days in June trading instructors on the national level.

Don't normally discuss my occupation and when most get a grasp of what I do they say ' f*** that, you couldn't pay me enough'! Takes a certain breed, high functioning, even keeled and able to switch gears in an instant. Part of my day can be spent in meetings with city officials, engineers and architects, the other part picking up trash or scraping mud off the road. Construction superintendent means wearing every hat and being responsible for everyone and everything on the job site. Deal with a diverse set of personalities daily and of course most trades and contractors come in thinking they're alpha male. Unrealistic deadlines, terrible blue prints, bad ground, bad weather...from utilities and road work to a paint drip on the wall, I own it.

I’m an HVAC & Standby generator technician. I work mainly residential and light commercial rooftop and small Resterant refrigeration. At times I do some installing of Water Heaters as well. I’m the lead generator tech for the shop as well. Run into some weird stuff like people putting 4-1” filters in a 4” media filter box cuz it said 16x25x4.and building a deck tightly around there AC and wondering why I can’t get to the controls to fix it!

Well before my stroke I worked on Powerstroke and Cummins diesels at my little hole in the wall shop. The bad part of being self employed and a car lover is sometimes the paying work gets put on the back burner. I don't regret any of my decisions to this day other than not having regular doctor checkups.

Thanks, that is the wife's car that we still have. There were several cars that were built/modified in that little hole in the wall and that is one of them we kept. .020 over 360 with air.

I'm the head saw filer and band filer at a million board foot a day sawmill. I do everything from settle arguments. Sweep floor, do the alignment on the machines, make sure all my guys are doing the job right. Order all the saws and supplies, keep all the equipment maintained and quality control.
