I volunteered to help stake/mark the race course for this event and also worked a checkpoint. It was right at 100 miles and there were 40 UTV's started but only 24 finished. Course was very rough, lots of cars broke. There were five Talon's in this race....Enjoy a few pics

For someone like me who is unfamiliar with SxS racing it sure seems like going through deep whoops like that would really beat you up in a SxS. I have done some desert racing and enduros over the years on a bike, and on a bike you would just be kissing the tops or clearing several big whoops at a time not actually riding through them like the photos above. Time for some Advil!

It’s all about the suspension set up. A stock Talon would rattle your brain loose. A couple of these cars are using King internal bypass shocls with long travel arm and running 33” tires. Soaks that stuff up pretty damn well.

Love the state, hate the politics. Probably going to die here unless I end up divorced 😀
Dont know how u afford it? Let alone able to afford toys after your done with all the other pay outs 😂

A buddy of mine went back twice . Was there a total of 3 times, once in boot camp and the other two was cuz of his wife. The third time he had a civilian job lined up back at Camp Pendleton to hep suplament the income to be able to afford the cost of living and the happy wife happt life thing we all strive to please. Still wasn't enough. Had to move back here. Has 3 times the size of house for 1/2 the money.
that place is insane!

That makes sense. We had friends we used to visit at their modest beach house way down sea of Cortez side of Baja. When a well built truck came down the main "road" at high speed, we called it "fast dust". One year an ex unlimited class (Trophy?) truck came by at an insane speed and the tires were just a blur but the cab and chassis were amazingly stable. We beat up our poor old Chevy Blazer going back and forth and although I thought the dash was going to fall out, nothing ever broke. At any rate, yes, suspension!
