I don't know how else to link it. Person likely won't post here. We ask hard (appropriate) questions.

You think one could burn from a battery short?

Please be more specific. I have a circuit breaker on mine, it is key on, so nothing runs without it. 80 amp.

You mean it rubbed through? Loose contact?

Crazy! Mouse or something may have got in and ate something. Wonder if he had it on a battery tender? Happened to a friend of mines atv. Battery tender started it.

Just saw it on FB, that thing burned to the ground. Says he saw it on neighbors camera and it started smoking under the hood for about ten minutes before it went up in flames doesn't suspect arson. Said no insurance on it but some homeowners insurance will cover atvs so maybe his will.

He watched it smoke for 10mins??????

I’d have been out there with a fire extinguisher and cable cutters!!!

Homeowners usually has a limited amount of additional coverage and it’s usually say 10% of the home value. Not judging because I lived in a house with wheels for a while myself but I don’t think 10% of his house’s value is going to be enough to cover that.

You SHOULD HAVE INSURANCE on a toy/tool that costs this much it’s CHEAP!!! I have $10000 in accessory coverage and full coverage no deductible on the machine for <$200 a year. Whether it’s paid off or you owe the bank it’s a good idea to let someone else bear the $20k plus in risk if it <$200 a year.

Totally agree. I can't understand why people don't insure these things. It's extremely cheap.
