Sounds like a great idea, THANKS..I run a ratchet straps around the rear seat back and hook the hooks together. I hook the car seat top buckle to get cargo tiedown.
This I gotta see, pic please!I loop the ratchet straps through the car seat and around the seat back which holds it in the seat. I then run the car seat upper strap over the seat back and down to the rear cargo box tie down. This holds the top of the car seat to the top of the seat back
Ok never mind, I thought you meant a full size auto seat, HA! Haven't had to use a car seat for children in a very long time! This I gotta see, pic please!

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a better way to mount car seats in the rear seats of The Family Rig and was hoping you could share ideas.
I've seen Joey and others running car seats back there. Give me some ideas!
Interesting on removing the padding.. Do you remove the bottom and back padding?Remove all the padding from the seat and then fold the seatbelt buckles out and the car seats will fit much better. Take the other guys advice on using ratchet straps. That’s what I do.
Yep. I do this too.I run a ratchet straps around the rear seat back and hook the hooks together. I hook the car seat top buckle to get cargo tiedown.
Awesome, so you don't even use ratchet straps, just the standard car seat straps? I like that. 1/2 inch"?I drilled a 1/2 hole in the frame backing to latch the car seat tie downs too. Just like you would in the car and like others said pull the rear strap over and latch to the cargo hook. View attachment 56386View attachment 56387

You are the Guru Joey
Car seats are like girlfriends... If they're good and small, they won't be cheap. If they're small and cheap, they won't be good. If they're good and cheap, they won't be small.By the way.. anyone got a line on a good, cheap small car seat to go back there?
