Maybe this is coming to us before cars and trucks because we have less HP, torque and weight to deal with. The mechanical engineering behind it is brilliant IMO -

They've done that for a while, Honda, Toyota, several European car Co. It's not really shifting gears, just computer programing & oil pressure changes on the primary to give it the "feel" of shifting gears

Really? Shifting a CVT sets you guys off but paddle shifters on a mini van is ok?

I would not be surprised if Polaris bought this technology like they did for their front diffs. They are stuck on CVT's and this would work well for them.
