EDR's have been in most automobiles and motorcycles for many years. It records data all the time, but it can't be accessed or downloaded unless an "event" is detected. It stores all sorts of data from the throttle, brakes, speed, etc. Call them "black boxes" for cars. The main purpose of these is to "aid law enforcement" - however you want to interpret that....
Now they are being put in OFF ROAD vehicles. I know that the Kawasaki KRX and Kawasaki Ridge have them. I don't know for certain if Honda does, but I suspect they do. Check your owners manual.
