A friend of mine had asked me if the Fox shocks needed to be serviced/rebuilt, or fluid changed. And I don’t really know the answer to that question.
What do y’all think?

I don’t think it’s too much of a worry for sxs application. The Foxes will need to be sent off but you should get many many miles on them before that happens.

did the showas on my prairie they are similar. the only hard part was getting seal kit, foxes shouldn't be hard. the oil they had right at the local Honda shop I had nitrogen and regulators that might be the only thing they normally run 150 to 200 lbs which the tire places wont be able to do but shock rebuilder or maybe air supply place never tried to ask. probably expensive to send off and loose them for a while

how long really depends on conditions, I ride in a lot of clay 75-80percent deep mud, and went to a mud pit once or twice and after 5 years couple thousand it was full of mud chunks in the body

Nitrogen tire filling locations dont have the proper stuff to fill shocks. I've been to several and they couldnt touch my old CR shock.

The service manual only shows removing the spring. No mention of how much pressure or what type of oil to use.

Got over 18,000 miles of mostly desert and some snow rides on my P1000-3 with about 12,000 miles on my fox shocks. Still work like new with no leaks.

said they wouldn't be able to cars they are like 100 psi, shock are twice that. shocks always seem like they want you to send them, but there are vids, forum threads on whatever you have, all you really need is the weight and psi.
this is what mine looked like after 2000 miles, a lot of mud and a few races
I had the stuff because I worked on a/c stuff

We have the stuff to do it at HOF, I figured someone somewhere has done it before.

I could have sworn somewhere Honda had a parts or device bulletin about servicing them by sending them in to Fox.
