Mine is a 2018.. About 2500 miles on it and I've never gone above 2 bars. But I'm not a mudder, and I'm pretty close to sea level.

Yeah you wont have that issue. As for the op, i dont believe so. Just do the radiator fan mod from the Hondasxs store and youll be good. I had it when i was in colorado riding at 12k feet and no problems.

Does anyone know if Honda has addressed this issue?
I just spoke to my salesman and he didn't know if there have been any changes/updates to new machines.

They did not fix it. When you start getting over 7000 ft you will have issues if you don't make some modifications.

Higher elevation = lower mass air flow (for a given volume, less air molecules) = less mass to carry away the heat.

Honda probably assumed that 85% of the outfits made would never make it over 3k in elevation, and the remaining 15% would be okay by running the fan longer etc.

Increase the air flow, larger radiator etc are all options.

I opted to install a heater in my P1k5 as I also plow snow with my rig and have the Honda soft cab assembly. Three of the heater ducts are such that I could easily run the ducts outside the vehicle. Typically I just turn on the heater and deal with the heat (cab totally removed). The heater does add a small amount of fluid capacity as well.

I also run the fan override from the site store as well. Between the 2 i have not had problems up to 7000 ft.

Had my 2021 well over 7000 ft with no problems at all. Of course this is in BC Canada and it is cooler up in the mountains but so far no issues- yet.
The climb up should have created an issue you, let alone the riding once there.

I've never had an issue, but a couple observations: Get the ECU update--it fixes the issue of turning the key to the ON position, then waiting more than 4 seconds before starting, which can result in the fan not coming on (or just don't pause in ON during starting). Keep the radiator clean and don't block airflow with too much stuff in front of the radiator. If you are unexpectedly seeing 3 or more bars, burp the crap out of the radiator by raising the front end 30 degrees and running the motor until at full temp--5-10 minutes? These tips are from previous posts here on hondasxs, not mine.

For my wagon, I added shrouds to the exposed bottom corners of the radiator using 30 gauge galvanized sheet steel from Home Depot. I also adjusted the temperature for the fan to run from OEM on at 222 and off at 220, to on at 220 and off at 217. But that's overkill. Pobably 99% of owners never have an issue.

Glad I saw this, and I'll watch the temp much closer. Had my 2021 P1k-5 for a year in Utah, so the machine hasn't been below 3,000'. I've done a lot of hot summer rides, including around Moab, Grand Staircase, and Sand Hollow.
I haven't noticed any overheating.

High altitude, extended steep climbs, running in high range -- all combined with spirited driving is a quick way to overheat an auto tranny (in a vehicle anyway) and go into limp mode. I wonder if something similar is going on here? The Honda's have a lot of muscle and are likely able to push through very steep/continual conditions but likely create a lot of heat as well. Just an idea.
