Honda pioneer 700-4

I have a 2014 pioneer 700-4 and when the key is turned on you can switch gears and see what gear you are in. But when you start it it’s hard to switch gears and won’t go out of one gear and a line blinks. I tried the screw on the side of the motor and it didn’t help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?!

Did you notice where the screw was before you moved or can you tell us which way and how much you moved it?

These machines are really particular about power for the electronics. Check all battery connections including the ground cable attachment to the engine.

I bought it new in 2014 Nobody else worked on it. The screw was the whole way in it seemed but I turned it like one full turn.

The screw on the engine your referring to is, i assume, the emergency valve.

It should be unscrewed out until the groove would be visible enough to slip the lock plate into stop it from moving. That is the normal position, if in that position it's still acting up then their are other problems.

If running, when you try to shift i to drive or reverse does the machine try to move on its own?

What does applying throttle do?

Is the dash blinking any lights or gear position?

The buggy jumps forward when you put it in drive but you have to fight to get it in reverse. As soon as you start the buggy and put it in gear a line blinks where it usually says D or R. And it doesn’t light and letter up.
