I’m leaving for a trip shortly and putt myself in a bind. I purchased new 30” tires hoping they wouldn’t need more than a body lift to not rub. I intend to order the ttc king travel kit but I needed a short term solution for this trip. My current 23 p1000-5 trail is in the factory tires still and they are toast. Should I buy 28” tires instead or does anyone have a suggestion?

First, welcome from South Florida

There's a floor cutout mod that might work for you for a quick fix. Ideally you want to offset your front/rear a-arms.....no lift really needed for 30s.

When you say toast, does that mean the front tires only because of front toe being so far out? How many miles did you get out of them? 28" are the biggest that fit without forward arms.

My tires have about 600 miles on them, mostly trail riding on rocky terrain. The didn’t hold up well, none of our factory tires did not just the Honda

Were missing something here in this story…
Who is “ours” and what rigs?
Again, pics!

If you dont have time to put arms and spacers on, buy 28’s thats as big as u can do stock without issues.
600 miles isnt much to go through tires. You must be rough on things.

Welcome from Mississippi. I've got 28" Big Horn II's on my P1K-3. I would do the 28's and run them until they're worn out.

NoHmo

U need some LT/MT’s waring tires out like that for sho! 🤣
Be careful around all the Poo Poo Fire Traps in your group. They’re liable to catch fire and take your rig out with them🤣🔥🧯
I was thinking I’d just put some cheap 29” tires on the rear for the trip. Will it hurt anything to have two different size height tires?

Yes, it will hurt something; you can't have different size tires on any 4x4 vehicle. You might get away with it if you run it in 2wd only.

Don't you run different sizes on the front and rear of your Talon, @CID?

😆😆😆

Just get 28’s all the way around and be done with it

Not recommended However since this is a In A Pinch thread. Go for it just run the 29s at a lower pressure so as to make the rolling radii equal front to rear.

Whatever R U thinkin'? :p Tires - all four are either 30 x 9.5 x 15 or 30 x 10 x 15 depending on mfr. Front rims 6+1, rear 4+3.

The rolling radii is irrelevant, lowering the TP will have no effect on the tire's circumference which is the dimension that matters.

The only thing that matters is the rolling radius as that x two is effectively the new diameter as far as the machine sees it.
