F the Talon, I want one of thease!

20" suspension travel and 22,000 pounds the body looks Cadillac smooth while the wheels pump up and down.
And it's got a Duramax!
Also the left to right ride leveling is awsome.


Price is a little high but once they have market saturation I bet I could pick one up for $15k. (Not)

Maybe you could buy a door for 15K, but an insanely cool vehicle.

Did he say base cost of a quarter million? That’s actually a lot less than I would have thought considering a new Pickup can run 70-80k and that new platinum ford is over 100k.

It’s funny how they detune it for reliability. That’s not a term you here with a real industrial engine.
Bad ass suspension! That thing rolls well!

I love the MATV, the one I drove saved our butts many times in Afghan, but ours had the UIK upgrade, it does not look like this one does. Thanks for posting the video!

It’s funny how they detune it for reliability. That’s not a term you here with a real industrial engine.
Bad ass suspension! That thing rolls well!

The auto industry doesn't run vehicles at peak power to determine cooling capacity and they'll often de-rate to save themselves. In the heavy truck and military markets peak power is sustained rather than just an occasional high load scenario so the peak may be lower but the capability of the vehicle to run at peak power is ten fold better.

I assure you I understand all that. What I’m getting at is the Duramax is a truck application engine not heavy industry. Same with PowerStroke. V engine isn’t the way to go in heavier applications.
In school busses those engines are placed in the small van chassis busses and rarely see much over 100-150k before failure. Cummins is placed in big semi running gear busses and see well over 300k. Made to run at 80% max power all it’s life. Not to mention much more flexibile with fuel.
I don’t understand why military would run something so complicated and expensive to work on when it’s expected lifespan is already 1/2. And it’s Japanese to boot. Must be some under table handouts going on.

Same reason toilet seats are $400 and hammers are $250, covert ops budgets and congressional kickbacks for approving the funds.

Look at the Hummer, it came with the 6.2 and later with the 6.5 GM junk, that was so underpowered it was not funny or safe. The duramax is a massive step up but a Cummins would be a better choice in my opinion. Either way it is nice to see the DoD getting an upgrade.
