I bought a leftover 2024 Pioneer 1000-5 Base three weeks ago and it's my first pioneer. So far I've transferred from my outgoing teryx:

- Light bar, lower cage mount.
- Sound bar, gotta have tunes.
- LED whips.
- Street legal kit/reverse light/lighted tag mount
- Winch.

Also added a mesh roof, dual battery setup with isolator and stinger relay. Had a cheap bed extender on but it fit terribly to I took it off and am just using a tailgate leveler for cooler purposes currently. Looking to add a full skid plate, windshield, and extended a-arms/larger tires somewhat soon.

I do have a question though, with the machine off and with the key on/engine off, my auxiliary battery has 12-14 v on the meter. But when I start the machine, the main battery stays up at 12-14 v but the aux drops to 9 volts for 10 seconds or so and kill my sound bar (very annoying). is that typical? It is wired correctly, starting battery to "main" on the isolator and "aux" to the aux battery. Everything else either from the stinger via a fused block or from the battery via an unfused block.

Thank you.

Will post pics later, didn't feel like typing all this on my phone where my pictures are...Thank you.
Sounds like the aux battery might be bad. Try putting a charge on it.

I was wondering about that. It’s a brand new mighty max ml-26. I charged it before installing, my charger showed 100% after about 15 mins and I keep a charger/tender on it at all times. But since they’re connected during the start, and only one pulls down, it does seem possible.

Welcome To The Best Place On Earth.

Out of curiosity, did you keep the Teryx or trade it in for the Pioneer?

Just sold it last week, had to pay for the upgrades somehow
I will be interested in hearing your comparisons. I have a 2020 Pioneer 1000-5 and a 2024 Teryx4 S. They are both great machines but each has its place. They fill their roles well.

Pioneer is more refined, faster, technologically advanced. Definitely a more comfortable ride and handles trails well so far. Have superatv skids now so will be hitting the harder stuff soon. Teryx is is loud and brash but probably quite a bit more durable. I’ve had two teryx’s, first one basically lived on the frame rails on the rocky trails I rode and also swam, a lot, and could rarely be stopped. Not that the pioneer can’t do as well, the teryx’s just seemed more durable to me.

I appreciate both of my machines and each has their pros and cons to me. I have a 1000-5 deluxe. I spent alot of time swapping arms, bracket lift, then switched to another set of arms with lift built in, removed away bar, did the fox shocks, swapped coils, bigger tires, it rides much better than it did when new. Then I got into the Teryx4 S. Out of the box it rides much better than my Pioneer. I have never been in a base Teryx. I have heard the S is more plush in the suspension. The Teryx is loud. So loud my wife would trade it for something else if there was a better option in the short wheelbase 4 seater class @ $14k. Rugged Radios helped us cancel out some noise. The family likes either machine. Personally I like the seats and ride position in the Pioneer. I like the stability I feel in the Teryx. Both have more than enough spunk to handle the riding style of my family and I.

I’m in Noble, Edmond was actually my first stop when we moved to Oklahoma, essentially grew up there
We have lived in Edmond since about 1978. Our daughter went to Edmond schools and graduated in 1999.
