Hi everyone,

We have a few acres mostly used for hunting / hobby farm in North Ga and am looking at used ( 2018 - 2024) Pioneer 1000-5's.
This will be the first UTV we have ever owned. I have lots of friends that have other brands, but we do not think they are the right fit for our needs. Really hoping to glean some insight from this group on any potential rakes that we could possibly step on in this process.

Being a new owner myself, I don't know if I can warn you of anything to look out for but, I can tell you a few things that I have gathered and my reason for going with the 1000-5.

Things to watch out for:

• Battery drain below 12V if you have a lot of accessories, run winch while driving, etc. (can cause clutch engagement issues)
• Bed liner needed to keep debris out of all the cracks and crevasses in the bed
• Expect to put a roof on at a minimum (test drive was in the rain with no roof)
• Some report heat issues coming from engine through seat into cab. I believe on the new models they have tried to correct it somewhat and it's been cold where I live so hasn't been a problem

Reasons I decided:

• Honda reliability
• The bed design with it's ability to do work around the property and also take nieces and nephews on trail rides.
• Good aftermarket support
• Plenty of power

Not much but, that's my take. Guys please correct me if I got anything wrong.
