Regarding the post about not drinking on the Tennessee Trails the story I heard was “you get caught you pay a fine, then you have to come back to the TN county at a later date for court Then at a later date you come back to the same TN county for sentencing. It’s not just pay a fine and go. But this is not first Hand experience”

That seems pretty harsh, but considering how littered the trails had become and the bad accidents and fatalities you knew something like this was in the wind. Hopefully if and when things lighten up, people reflect on this going forward.

That just makes it more exciting for you out of towners. Make you feel like a true Outlaw on the trails.

If you get stopped and alcohol is involved where it isn’t allowed the prohibited alcoholic beverages can be seized.
You can be cited/ticketed with a misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest and can contact the court with jurisdiction and send in your fines and costs.
If a driver is found to be intoxicated they go to jail and can bond out after 12 hours. They will be given a court date for arraignment and will have to be present for that arraignment unless they have an attorney representing them and the attorney handling their case tells them not necessary.
If a plea is worked out you have to be present at that time.
If a passenger is drunk and unruly, disorderly or disruptive to enforcement conducting the stop they can be arrested and will spend 8 hours in jail before being released.
In both cases if convicted of the offense and given jail time to serve you will get credit for time served when you show to serve your sentence.

I think it was George Carlin who said “If you don’t drink and drive how the heck are you supposed to get anywhere”
