Hey all, just lost my low range? Clunks and stops moving forwards soon as there is any incline or throttle. High range no issue allowed me to get home. Checked all linkage adjustments and has clutch update. Always stop for shifts ( high/low and 4x4) still running stock size tire.
Any thoughts? Cee139fc1496559a736e205290f80df9
Thanks

Well f***. Does it move itself across level ground? If so what kind of noise is it making if any? Is it making a lot of racket in low and high is perfectly fine?

That certainly doesn't look good. How many miles on it and what warranty do you have?

Are you sure it is in low range? The wire from the shifter can become stretched. You can pull your seat and see where the wire goes into the case and manually operate - let me try and find a pic.

Hey, once you start to roll it clunks and lurches. Very loud clunks. Bout 1600miles (3000km here). Was fine all morning until we stopped for a break. Then first hill clunk or sharp bang continuous.
No warranty that I know of think they offered 6 months.

Ya, popped the seat and pushed down on the shifter. Even drove with hand on it ( on case) to see if it popped up when it clunked. It did not but I sure could hear it.

Mine occasionally does it when shifting to low from high particularly when it’s in somewhat of a bind... pretty sure it’s the cable. After the initial clunck it goes into range and shifts fine.

That’s what I hope, we adjusted linkage and it did it as soon as I pulled forwards up hill.

It might be the 2w lock, 4wd or 4 lock cable needing adjustment. Ive had to adjust my front 4wd and lock cable. Makes a hell of a popping noise when not engaged all the way.

I just spoke to a buddy and he said his did the same and they had to replace the shift fork and 2 gears. Not sure exactly but kinda think it’s a bit of a job to tear into now.
I’ll update further when I find out more.

Damn! That's low mileage for that kind of failure. Have you maintained and checked your sub-trans oil faithfully? (not making any assumptions but trying to figure why a problem at so few miles)

Yes check prior to rides and just about to do 2 year change as per manual suggestion.
Curious to see what’s In the oil when I drain it.

There are adjustments in the box and the front differential has adjustments for both. The front diff adjustments are on the passenger side in front behind a plastic cover and the other is at the rear of the diff.

So I took it to my local dealer and turns out sub trans needs work. Couple gears need to be replaced. The good news is it’s only couple hours work. The bad is warranty is up so it hits my pocket. 3,033 km( 165 hours) I’ll ask for images to post if they will share.
