P1000 Pioneer 1000 Hood

i have a red pioneer but I want a black or matte black hood. Is that a factory option? Seems like I seen black Pioneers from factory. Mine is a 2016 but do newer model hoods fit? What about 1000-3 hoods, are they the same? We are trying matte black vinyl now but I’m not sure it’s going to work and if it does turn out ok not sure how long it will last so I’m looking for a backup plan.

Probably odd request but the black hood looks great with red panels and I have a red decal to put on the hood once I get it black.

A quick look on partsfish.com shows 2016 2019 P1000-5 share the same parts# for the Patriot Red hood, I didnt find a black one though. There is tons of Pioneer 1000 models to scroll through though. I looked at about 7 or 8 and found a white ones, green ones ,and camo ones. The reds are about $50. The camo are about $330!!! I think it would be a safe bet if you could find a black one in those model years it would fit.

That would have been cheaper and I may give it a try on the old hood since I have new one on way. Just had no confidence that it would hold up to the pressure washer

Well my buddy gave it a great effort but said the CF wrap was too thick and wouldn’t stretch and lay down right. It’s a really cool look though I think. Will continue to play with the old hood and experiment since I have a new one on the way

I gotta admit I really like the look of the black hood. Kind of breaks it up a bit. I may try that on mine, even though it’s green.

I agree. The day I bought this Pioneer I said I wanted black hood on it. I like the CF look but will wait to see how the new factory black looks before deciding. Could always have the old hood hydro dipped
