P500 Pioneer 500 - fan came on, battery went dead for a bit..is this normal

So...was using the trusty Pioneer 500 to rake some mulch I had cut down from trees on my land.
The Pioneer I noticed, had the fan blowing on and off a few times....then one of those times, it just shut off on me.
I figured....K...she's hot, has to cool down....FINE. But when I went to turn her back on after cooling down...the battery had been totally drained. This is a new battery too.....so I plugged her in to the trickle charger, gave it a few hours and she was good again.

Is this normal?
if not, should I put in a new battery?
Whats a good battery I should use?

Could have just been the battery giving up the ghost. You can take it somewhere and have it load tested. If it is toast then there are several options for a replacement but you really can't go wrong with a Yuasa.
