Looking to put street tires on my 1000 and wondered what rim size to get. Same width front and rear? What offset to maintain factory look? Really dont want tires sticking out like on a lot of non factory set ups I've seen. Thanks in advance.

I bought 15" rims since those gave me the most street tire options. They are a 5+2 offset which leads to needing some fender flares. They don't stick out much, just enough to throw water down the side.

Mine are STI HD wheels. I was looking at 14" wheels and kind of stumbled onto the 15". Not really any cost difference and a much larger tire selection. If you go over 28" tires you'll want a lift. So far I've been very happy with these tires. I pulled a muddy and very steep hill climb last night with no trouble.

You can get UTV specific street tires for 14" wheels if you're pioneer already has them. Then you save the money if buying wheels and keep stock width.

What size do you currently have?

Also, STI has some 6-1 wheels that would keep the track more narrow.

I have the stock 14" now. Looking to do rims and tires so I can throw big horns back on if I go to Windrock or the likes.

What brand tires are those if you don't mind me asking? Can't quite make it out in the picture. What is the diameter? Are they closer to 27" or 28"?

They are an off brand of Cooper I think called a thunderer. I've been very happy with them. They measure 28" exactly. Stock suspension they clear fine.

Well they are 6 ply in the truck world. One thing I've learned is that there is no real standard for "ply rating" everyone rates them differently and ATV ratings compared to truck ratings are different. I went by feel at the tire shop and these had a much stiffer sidewall compared to another 6 ply. Hopefully this helps a little.....

The picture doesn't quite do it justice but this hill is steeper than a 45 and even when muddy it climbs right up it.

Most tires say 6pr or 8ply rating. Some tires like the Roctanes say 8 ply Construction! They are tough but also heavy.

I get that. I'm saying there is no standard for how itp rates their tires vs how Kenda rates theirs...etc. "Ply" is a miss leading term. It doesn't necessarily mean there are 6 or 8 layers. This is what I was told a couple years back. I could be totally wrong. But we do know not all tires are equal quality even if they all say 8ply.

Yeah, that irritates me too. They should tell us ply construction and materials used for every tire!

They never will though, because they are not mandated too. They are off highway use so they can get away with whatever they want basically.
