Friend ask this and I didn't have a good answer....

He wants a chainsaw mount.

-To carry a 16 inch electric chainsaw.
-wants to mount to the ROPS
-would like it to rotate in so it's under the roof. But, would bungee cord a trash bag over it if necessary.
-lockable, if possible

If y'all have any suggestions on the mount or how to lock it up, thanks.

And, any photos would be appreciated. I hope he will come and join after this. He's had bad experiences on truck sites and was not gonna ask as "the new guy."

Most of the saw mounts I’ve seen are the type that clamp closed on the bar of the saw. I can’t say I’ve seen one that swings at all. Not that it doesn’t exist, I just don’t remember seeing one.

I bought some 1/4" UHMW to sandwich together after I use a router to shape each half for the bar. Also have several roll bar clamps. Seems easy enough to build, couldn't stomach the buck 75 to buy a Kolpin or Hornet. Still sitting on my bench though..:(
ROP clamps is what I'm thinking also, making tabs on both end to counter sink pan head bolts for the clamps? Might have to glue another piece of PVC to the tabs to make it strong enough for the counter sinking?

Yep, having a saw hanging out past the ROPs doesn't seem smart.

Search..Thread 'Chainsaw holder' P1000 - Chainsaw holder

Looking back at my mount idea laying on the bench; I bought 3 - quick fist clamps to mount the saw scabbard on the passenger bed grab bar, behind the front seat.
Maybe I'll finish it this weekend.

I've had my Kolpin for 3 yrs now with no issues. I mounted it on my rear bar so the saw is inside the ROPS. The rear seats still work and it hasn't got in the way of anything. I do have to take the saw out to dump the bed. Just another option.
