So, I’m looking at tires and think I’ll wait and go to 30”, not 28”. Here is info on the unmounted diameter and weight of my choices, which others seem to ask about quite a bit.

Edit: added the Rock a Billy info after talking to them

I decided on the 30" rockabilly because they are a true 30", Brian Fisher from fishers atv world runs them and swears by them. A lot of the Baja 1000 utvs run them from the videos ive seen so it must be a tough tire. Only have 100 miles on them so far so good.

I emailed them to get an unmounted diameter but haven’t heard back. Been a couple weeks.

Have you looked at the warrior tires yet?
Those are awesome looking tires...just couldnt justify spending that much on a buggy tire.

How did you decide on 30 instead of 28?

I really based it on watching Joey and Chris clear obstacles, get up and over Dragon's Back with apparent ease. Those big tires just seem to make rolling so much easier. I'm not talking about on the DCT but just tires on the ground. Also, I likely won't wear out my current Roctane XDs which are 27" so paying for 28" and not wearing them out to then get to 30", just isn't cost effective in my mind. So if I move away from stock size, I believe I'll just go to 30" and get a lift, chop the cage, and get IGR. Why? Because it is what will make this bike be what I want it to be. Do I need it, no. But, I'll be more confident in riding. All this might change next week as I continue to look and think and ride. A second trip to the Takeover will get me more info and solidify where I go with this. So, long winded answer, but these are the things I have thought about. If I had a taller garage door, I would have already done it. Without a doubt.

You are right on the larger diameter tires rolling easier it is the weight of the tire that hurts and robs power away
