I've gone to soft shackles and instead of steel snatch blocks on the Pioneer and my trucks, I use synthetic pulley rings or synthetic snatch rings... With an aluminum wheel and a soft shackle. 4049b574f39cef3fa1cc12b82b3bbcd1

Those are really handy. I wondered about their strength until I saw a utoob video where they dead pulled a bulldozer with frozen tracks with one soft shackle. They pulled that thing over a mile IIRC. :oops:

I’ve always thought that the rule of thumb when dealing with D rings was to tighten it and then turn it back a quarter turn so as not to totally bind it up when you go to loosen it
