Who needs help Tuesday in Blowing Rock NC. Maybe Boon if I can get through.
I have a small utility tractor loader and chainsaws.
I can bring some supplies and either the Tractor or the Pioneer (not both).

Prefer to meet someone as I will not be working alone.

I just got internet back today... so I have been researching this more on how to help.
Beyond sending $.
Many are saying the authorities are turning away the help.
Disallowing 4x4 trucks and sxs from helping get supplies and water to people.
There were reports of a guy in an SxS who ran from the cops and got arrested.
He was delivering supplies to his family.
they ended up letting him go.

With that said... I may not be able to help.

The guberment doesn't want any competition. They want us to think only THEY can save us.

Actually that's not true. They just want organized help. Not just random people doing who knows what who knows where becoming more victims to be rescued. If you contact local the EOC the may be able to connect you with their volunteer coordinator.

great advice - the feds do not know what to do - the local governments\state officials will help direct - I doubt if anyone shows up with cases of water\blankets\baby formula and some chain saws\backhoe\etc. that they will be turned away

I spoke to my cousin Sunday. We both grew up in Deep Gap (hence the "DG" in DG Rider) about 10 miles east of Boone, right before you drop off the mountain. He still lives in Wilkes county but cuts and maintains power/utility ROW'S.
They are currently up in Boone. He said they were told to plan on 16hr days, 7 days a week, for the next 3 weeks at least.

It's a epic disaster in every sense of the word.

I didn't me to be a smart ass in my comment, but we have a man missing and presumed to be deceased because he, his girlfriend and there dog got in his boat on the river to try and help others at the height of the flooding. They were washed under a flooded bridge. When they surfaced she was able to cling on to the top of a tree on the bank and was rescued that night. The boat was found capsized yesterday with the poor dog still tied to it, but he has not been found yet. When the river becomes safe again we will have to begin searching it for him.

I ran out of time... had to get home to get kids off the bus.
I'm going going back for plates, cutlery, papertowles, cups.
And some bread, ham, and cheese for tomorrow. 1 cooler full.

I would also like to get several hundard dollars in chain saw supplies and gas from somewhere.

If yall haven't seen pictures... There were popular towns that are gone... i mean completely gone.
300 found people dead so far.
From a hurricane... 300+ miles away from the beach.
