P500 2022 Pioneer 520 2,000 Mile Report

I stopped by my friends ranch on my ride yesterday. He said his sign works great, way better then his no trespassing sign. I tested the suspension on some wash board and rocky trails. I had the shock preload in position 5 for more ground clearance. They come in position 2. I went to position 1 and reduced my tire pressure to 6 PSI. I’m running 28” tires so that helps too. I was pleasantly surprised on how good the suspension is now. After putting thousands of miles on my Talons the slow steering on my Pioneer is really noticeable. When new, the shifting was not good but after the clutch adjustment that fixed it and its very good now and a bit better in manual mode. I keep the rpm under 5,500 when cruising. 5th gear cruising is best from around 24 mph to 34 on the speedo. At 37 mph on the speedo its at 6,000 rpm and that is 40 mph on my GPS with the 28” tires. At the rev limiter its 6,800 and the engine is noisy but I run it there if I need 44 mph briefly.

Love the tires you are running on. I reeeallly want to run 28's. If you don't mind I would love to pick your brain before pulling the trigger on some 28's....

1. Do you know if these tires are true to size 28's? Also, are they 10 inch wide in front and back?
2. What backspacing do those wheels have, and are you running any additional spacers?
3. Does it rub at all at full lock?
3. How does it ride? Still feel like you have enough power to climb and accelerate?

I use the 28's for sand wash rides. Not sure but I think I have 1-inch spacers in the front and 2 inch in the rear. They rub at full lock, and I think they are true 28's. I run in 2WD on hard pack and use 32's in the back for a top speed of 50 mph. I will check the wheels and wheel spacers. It pulls good to the rev limiter with the 32's. I can cruise in the low 40's and high 30's now. 4th gear does 39 at the rev limiter.

Awesome. Do those wheels have backspacing on top of the added spacers? I like the way 5+2 wheels look but not sure if 2 inch backspacing would be enough. Are those tires 10in wide in front and rear from the pic you posted? Thanks again!
