Spent two weeks riding in Colorado watching the Aspen turn yellow. First week in Meeker, Buford, White River Forest area and then down to the Crested Butte area. Rode to Marble, Devils Gulch, Taylor Lake, Pitkin, St Elmo, Tin Cup and many other places. Talon always performed well but with over 2,500 rough, rocky miles from all over the country it needs a little TLC. The front drivers side differential seal started leaking, tires are pretty much cut up and worn from all the rough rocky trails, the pull strap on the drivers side window net ripped off and the yellow power steering light started flashing. Power steering assist went off and on quite a few times the last few days. Not fun on some very narrow side of the mountain trails. I’ll get these things taken care of before our next trip coming up soon. Another oil and filter change too. Overall all with all the bumpy, rocky, hot, muddy, watery, snowy, high altitude abuse it has been through over the last 2 years I am more than happy with it.

That’s so cool! I can’t wait to do that sometime.
Question: where is the cabin, mine shack, mill or power house at?

Great pictures, I miss that part of Colorado. Just curious if you did Schofield Pass between Crested Butte and Marble? That part of the trail has much pucker power. It makes Black Bear look like a walk in the park.

We have done the “pucker part” many times but not this time. Since we came down from Rifle, Co we put in at Marble, got some BBQ and rode those trails. We went down to the waterfall where we turned turned around so we could trailer into Crested Butte before it got too late. We never went back past the warning sign from the Crested Butte side. Didn’t need to check that box off my bucket list again.

how were trails around Meeker? They have some type of rally every year, but have never made it there. I drive thru going from Wyoming to Rifle on way to Moab but have never stopped.

We stay in Meeker. We trailer up to about 25 miles away to some of the trailheads so a good Forest Map helps out. Some trails are accessible to ride to from town but those trailheads are 10+ miles away. They have many miles of great trails but also some fire road type trails too. Lots of rocky trails. Amazing views from the tops of the mountains that the pictures just don’t justice to. The first 8-10 pictures above are from the Meeker area.

you guys ever ride the Silverton Colorado area? We hit it a couple years back and was very cool. Couple of places that would have been better if 1 way trail (Engineers Pass) When we were there in early September that time, they had just opened up a long stretch from an avelanch from winter before, snow was still 30'-40' high on sides.
