Has anyone mounted one of these on a 500? I know you can make anything work with the right amount of fabrication.

I'd almost be inclined to take a snatch block and some cordage with me to create a hoist over a tree branch, and use that to load it on the back/bed. Probably much cheaper and no fabrication.

I saw this back in December 2017, thought it looked good and saved the photos. Pretty sure the photos were from this forum but unfortunately, I don't remember where and don't remember who the manufacturer is. So to answer your original question, I'd say it can be done. Looks like they're using a plow sub frame mount. Good luck.

FWIW P3468058931600 1If it's only purpose is to haul deer, I've used one of these for years with no issues. Pulled thru snow, over logs and even down gravel roads. Thread rope in a 4' pc of pvc so it doesn't pass you. All for 20$ or less.

If you do go this route, you should consider the expanded metal between bars, when the legs fall into the gaps they can be hard to get out. Doesn't unload/dump in the back of a pickup. You have to maneuver perpendicular to bed and drag it out into bed.

This mounts to my custom plow mount. It works great and I use straps and folding forks to hold deer while lifting. This makes visibility out front much better than a big platform that blocks the view of the trail. The forks, not seen here, can also be used for lifting logs for easy bucking with the chainsaw.
