I don't think that would work where I hunt. It's usually pretty dry and dusty during archery season and my bow would be covered with dust and the sight might be unusable.

My neighbour had a bow kaddy mount on his Ranger mounted high under the roof. Check out their website. Lots of options and pics of mounting. www.bowkaddy.com

I went through process to when I got my sxs. Now I just stand mine up in seat and put my seat belt around it. If its dusty throw a cover of some sort over it.

That’s the way I was considering mounting if I go with the bow kaddy. Dust isn’t a problem in south Mississippi. My biggest issue is keeping the bow secure while getting around in the woods and the bow kaddy seems to be the best option I’ve come across so far. When I get it mounted I’ll post pics

Spoke to Arliss (owner of Bowkaddy) earlier today and he walked me through the best mounting options for the P1K-5. He was very nice and went out of his way to do a little extra homework since he hasn’t had much experience with the 1000-5 and we came up with the single bracket mount to be mounted overhead. The double bar bracket mounted to the head rest bars would interfere with the dump bed. I placed the order and should have it some time next week. I’ll post pics and note any helpful install info once I’m done.

I ended up making a bracket and mounting the Kolpin plate on it. It's hard to find any steel to mount on, but this works pretty good. I can still tilt the bed and put stuff under the bow case.

Got it installed today. Installation was easy, straight forward but a little tedious and it took a little while to get it micro (for lack of a better word) adjusted but I’m very happy that I went this route. It mounts to the ROPS very securely and holds the bow equally secure. I’m not worried about traversing rough terrain with the bow in the rack. I mounted it on the rear most horizontal ROPS bar and tucked it up under the roof, directly over the rear jump seats. I bought the single mount package that came with the bow case because it was a better deal than just buying the bow kaddy and the UTV single mount. Don’t know if I’ll ever use the case but I have it if it looks like mud will be getting up the area where the bow is suspended.

Also, I called the owner, his name is Arliss, because the website is a little confusing as to what exactly is needed to get the system properly mounted in each specific brand/ model of UTV and he was super nice and accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure that I was taken care of. He told me to call back if I needed any more assistance. Seems like a good company to do business with.

If you ever hunt CO you’ll need it in a case to be legal.

How'd it do on your hunts and/or on bumpy roads? Did the pins in the custom drilled holes for your split limb bow rub marks on the insides of your limbs?
