I know I am not alone here, wood and steel manually operated rifles hold a big piece of my heart in the firearms world. Here's a 1949 model '94 in 32 Win Special I picked up at the gun show last Saturday. I guess I am taking my place as an old man getting older, but this is the stuff we grew up with. Just like a '69 Camaro or an old Ford pickup it triggers the nostalgia of hanging with my dad.

I'll try to muster the energy to take some pics of mine later but here's a couple I own. I bought the Henry 410 side gate last fall. It's a beautiful gun, highly detailed. The other is a Marlin Golden 39m "gold Trigger" I believe. My dad bought it for me when I was a young boy. I also have a very old 12 ga. single shot that breaks the barrel down with a lever action. I love me some lever actions !

i have a garden variety marlin 336 30-30 (with a scope 😅 ) not really worthy of a pic 🤣,seen one seen em all.

Scopes look great on a 336, guide-gun bush pilot stuff. 👍

A scope on a lever gun is sacrilege

A scope on a '92 or a 94 is sacrilege, a scope on a 336 or a newer Henry is not. ;) IMO of course.

my dad had a very early 60's mint condition winchester 30-30. i was always fascinated with it.my d!ckhead brother ended up with it. i love my lever rifle even if it's a cheapo marlin.i may end up with a big bore Henry one day.

Marlin 336. ,35 Remington. My dad gave it to me , it.was a good deer killer when I was younger. I still shoot it from time to time.

Thanks I believe it was purchased in the 70s. Its actually a very accurate rifle within its limitations.

Yep, and they aren't target rifles anyway. They're good for 150-200 in rifle calibers, 100-150 in pistol calibers. That Henry 44M is dead-nuts at 100 and packs a good punch, but anything 200 and farther is downright comical with the holdover.
