I have a Triton UT 12 aluminum trailer (wood deck) measuring 8.4' wide X 15.9' long, single axle. I use it to haul a 2021 P1K5. I tow it with a diesel Mercedes Sprinter camper van. My trailer doesn't have brakes and while I haven't had any problems as of yet, I wonder how well it would stop in a panic situation or if the brakes will perform well travelling down long mountain grades. Any advice would be welcome. Should I install trailer brakes? I am not sure if my trailer comes with mounting holes for calipers. I need to check.

All my personal trailers have brakes, no exceptions.

Brakes will make it a lot nicer and safer to tow. I'll also say that if you ever upgrade to a tandem axle trailer don't skimp and get brakes on only 1 axle.

Good advice. Thanks
