No problem if you can't make it @100Acre I was just throwing it out there if you found you had some free time. This is an annual event and maybe you can add it to your future destinations. If you do find your way to northern MI, we're meeting on E. Central Ave in Mackinaw City, MI on Friday, Sept. 29 at 5 PM. Cut off time is 6 PM and we'll be gone. :)

THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR TREK 2017 IS TOMORROW - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22!

This is an overview of Friday, Sept. 29, and Saturday, Sept. 30.
Remember this is northern Michigan. Please come prepared for all weather conditions.

Friday, September 29:

Staging your machine is done on Friday anytime between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. Staging area is a gravel pit field on Central Avenue in Mackinaw City. Central Avenue is between Exit 338 and Exit 339 off of I-75. Head West on Central. You’ll pass Mackinaw City High School on the left, St. Anthony Catholic Church on the right. After passing those, the staging field will be on the left. There will be Trek volunteers at the entrance. If you want to GPS a location, use the High School.

Upon entering the staging field, you will be directed where to unload your machines. There will be volunteers available to help. If you are with a group of friends, please arrive at the same time if you want to ride over the bridge together. We cannot save space waiting for others in your group to arrive later in the day.

Proceed to the safety inspection area. If your machine is equipped with headlights and taillights, please be sure they are in working order. There will be a db level check (Michigan Law is no greater than 94 db). If you are on an ATV, all laws and manufacturer guidelines must be adhered to when it comes to a one-person ATV or a two-person machine. No after-market seating is allowed. Two people cannot ride on a one person ATV. Your machine will have a wristband placed on it stating that you passed inspection.

Proceed to the Registration Tent to pick up your registration packet which will include your wristbands for each paid registrant, your lunch ticket(s) for Saturday, and other miscellaneous items. There will be silent auction items in the tent for you to bid on. The items will also be at the lunch on Saturday for a short time. Winners will be announced Saturday during lunch.

Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Meet and Greet at Mackinac Grille in St. Ignace. There will be a giveaway to paid registrants on a first come, first served basis. There will be a cash bar, band, and snacks.

Saturday, September 30:

Bus schedule from St. Ignace to the staging field in Mackinaw City will be emailed to all registrants next week, so check your email daily including your Spam folder. The times are determined by the number of registrants and locations for pick-up. It will also be posted on Facebook. The Pre-Ride Mandatory Meeting will happen no later than 10:30 a.m. or once all buses have completed their routes. We will leave the staging area at 11 a.m. and ride east on Central Avenue. We will then be “Riding Out The Dream” as we “Trek the Mighty Mac” being escorted by Law Enforcement. Once across the bridge we will continue through St. Ignace to Little Bear East Arena where lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be door prizes and the winners of the Silent Auction will be announced. During all times we are on the roads, including crossing the bridge, please ride single file. Do not swerve back and forth in the lanes, do not perform wheelies. Such behavior will not be tolerated.

Following lunch, Trek participants are invited to ride from St. Ignace to Trout Lake. Carol's Corral Cancer Foundation is sponsoring a hot dog roast and bonfire in Trout Lake from 4 p.m. until ?? A donation that day will be greatly appreciated to benefit the Foundation. The Way Back Group will be available with maps and information to assist people wanting to ride to Trout Lake. The ride to Trout Lake will depend on which route/trail you decide to take. It can be from 1 hour to 3 hours.

Hope everyone is looking forward to Trek the Mighty Mac 2017!

Just found out yesterday that the wife will have to work until noon that Friday, which sucks! Oh well, I'll be ready to roll when she hits the driveway so worst case scenario, we're on the road by 1:00 and it's about a 3 hr trip from Bay City...4:00 ish.
Everyone can leave early on Friday and based on Trig's schedule he will be the last one to arrive in Mackinaw City @ 4-ish. (not a problem... someone had to be last and we'll be 2 hours ahead of the original plan!) :) Everyone call me when you roll in and I'll let you know where we are.

It was a lot of fun actually. A lot of nice people and 500 machines. I figured my cohorts would be posting a bunch of pics by now.
