ok here is the big red that you are not thinking about... if you are not familiar with the sxs then you are way too young to remember these.. I bought it new in 1986 for 1700.00 and they were on sale from 2100.00
1 year later the pressure was on Honda to remove it from the market as it was deemed a bad design.. to
many injuries because kids did not know how ride and lean into a turn... mine has 118 original miles on it and I have been told mine has to be in the top 3 in the 48 states as far as miles and condition... one sold for 5300.00 in Canada a year ago....

thanks,
Gary

pretty nice machine
I remember when all you could get was three wheels, those and the yamahas were the cool ones they had suspention and my kawi 200 was solid mounted. but they where a little longer and it was slightly tougher to pop it over on yourself. but still fun memories, the kids down the road had big reds and my cousin had the 225 Yamaha

Curious, what are you doing to prevent/reduce the possibility of rust in the tank?

At that time these came out, the only thing Honda really had was the utility versions as I remember, i.e., 185s, 200s and Big Red, etc. I remember riding a 250X shown above and it was leaps and bounds different than anything at the time by Honda in terms of performance and as the Gas Monkeys would say "Let Er Rip Tater Chip" ...

my uncle had the r, also had race suspension, wide and low, but had BBK too was really fast. I drove it a bunch and never had a problem but he always had to hot rod it and show off and he was the only one I know personally that got seriously hurt(bike flipped on its side and peg stabbed though his upper leg). sat for a few years healing and his wife didn't want him on it. only time I got hurt was falling off in the mud and it rolled over me but really only hurt a day. we both ended up getting prairies after that you could do all the stupid stuff on those but when you flip it being stupid a lot more quad around you to protect you

They love them in Canada because they are small and light enough they can take them apart and get them in a float plane.

If you live in Florida or near Florida three wheelers are being raced again. Some riders got together and race at tracks around Tampa I have been wanting to watch I have owned 3 myself Honda 200s, Yamaha 200, Honda 250sx. My grail is a 350X because you can't get your hands on Tigers unless you have a pile of cash or a pile of cash to restore one.

The group is on facebook they race the 250R's, the Tecates and Tri-z's.
