I'm a 700 newbie and wondering if somebody knows how the rear axle functions?

I know the front axle has a locker, but how does the rear axle operate?

Is it full time lock - part time lock - etc. It doesn't have spider & side gears - correct?

I jacked up the rear axle & gave a tire a spin & the opposite side tire spins in the same direction - so I assume there's either a full time auto locker or a spool.

Hi Joe, welcome to the community.
To answer your question. The rear is positive locked. Both wheels will always turn equal.

There have been a few complaints as the Big Red had an open diff allowing flex when turning. The Pioneer however does not.

Still, the Pioneer is a great machine and your going to love it.

Hope to see you around. If you have any questions we are here.

Excellent and thanks for the welcome. :) I've been enjoying having it (I come from a long history with Jeeps).

My sister likes driving it as well.
