I have a 1000-5 that has cracked at the weld. I wondered what people had the best luck with. I have thought about just replacing the y pipe. I was wondering if anyone else had taken off and re welded? Or if going to after market was the best? I wouldn’t mind a better tone, however I have outgrew the loud exhaust. Just wondering what would make the sense?

If you're not thinking of going aftermarket then I'd just weld/repair it and call it a day. The OEM is the quietest exhaust you'll find out there. If you're up for a little heat reduction, removing the CAT helps reduce heat a bit. You'll have the exhaust out already so you'll be halfway there. Quick and easy mod.

Good luck 👍

If I’m repairing, I feel like I should replace the y pipe vs welding. Where is the best place to order that from?
Ronayers.com
Partzilla
Rockymountainatv
eBay … used or new
Local stealership

Personally if a fella can weld or has a friend that can….I’d weld it. Cost is next to nothing that way. But ultimately it is your decision

Just weld it. No need to replace the y pipe. You could split a piece of pipe and put it over the crack and weld it, essentially making the pipe thicker in the area of the crack. That's what I would do if it was mine. Hope that makes sense.
