Yesterday I tried to tackle the cable adjustments to get this darn P1000 working properly. Started at the rear differential lock cable. It was initially quite loose. The TM says to tighten the cable nut until the ferrule touches the rear of the slot then back off half a turn ( .5 to 1.5mm gap?). At 1mm gap there’s no difference in how well it shifts between turf and lock. At .5mm there’s really no difference either although it seems that once it decides to shift from turf to lock it will go back and forth readily between turf and lock with the shifter movement. Should I go ahead and tighten it all the way until the ferrule bottoms out in the slot?
I haven’t tackled the 4wd cable yet or the front differential lock. I’m about ready to trade this thing in on a Polaris….
