Hey guys. I am super impressed with the new 22 P1000. The power may not seem like much on paper but the 22 is turning my 30" cryptids much easier than both of my other Hondas. The power steering is awesome. The machine has a lot more power and it's very noticeable.

It performs similar to my Can Am defender XMR but much more responsive. I would probably say both machines are equal in performance.

Anyone on the fence about upgrading their P1000. It's a no brainer. Do it. you will not be disappointed. The Defender XMR is also a beast of a machine but the new P1000 is quickly becoming my favorite.

FYI: Most important upgrades for the P1000 in my area (S. Florida)
1. Under seat fan !!!!!
2. Under seat insulation !!!
3. HL lift & Snorkel (Fits 22)
5. Roof
6. 30" Cryptids (Rub at full lock) not a problem for me.
7. No wheel spacers. (Awesome) used original rims. Does not throw mud all over the place. Clean ride without fender flares.

Negative
The lift & cryptids make the ride much stiffer but it's still manageable.

Best of luck !

Rudy

What were your other two Hondas, and how many machines do you currently have?

I do like the look of that XMR. It was one of my favorites when I was choosing my first SxS. P1000-5 won out with the DCT and pop-up seats.

I typically run in about 18"-30" of water. The winch needs to out of the water. I removed the P1000 front bumper and had my welder construct a 90 degree vertical (adjustable) mount. I can pull front the front or relocate it to the rear and pull from the rear. I used 3/8 plate and a $20 receiver tube from HD. My welder charged my $ 60. Used an anti-rattle hitch tightener from harbor freight to keep the receiver from rattling. I think that was around $14. Also added tie down point on the receiver.

Then reinstalled front bumper. Fits perfectly without modifying the frame. Front bumper is still removable.

Best of luck !
