I put screws through the rubber gasket on the end into the pre-filter to avoid this.

Yep. Those screws should hold it. And if by chance it does disappear. I would not worry until after your trip.

One good thing about meeting at the mudholes is if the other parties are running late, you aren't stuck on the side of a gravel path waiting on them. Plenty of fun stuff to do while waiting. Like some of the smallest, deepest mud puddles you'll ever meet. But there's an abundance of trees to winch off of lol.
