There’s an 80+ mile loop trail right out of Pagosa Springs....

Pagosa Springs OHV Loop

Pagosa Springs OHV Loop is a 81.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Pagosa Springs, Colorado that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for ohv/off road driving. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

That trail appears to have roads that need a licensed vehicle to drive on. What did you drive it with?

East of Pagosa, there is a good forest service road 667 (East Fork Rd), which takes you to some back woods trails that are fun and have very nice views. No license required. We took it last year.

Also, get on COTrex on phone or computer. It is free, and shows all the trails in Colorado, and can be shown by type of vehicle driving or hiking it. If you create an account, you can save your route. Works with your phone GPS, to show where you are on the trails.

There are a few places in Colorado that allow using county roads to connect trails, they're clearly marked OHV or no OHV (red slash throught the OHV). This is my first year of owning a SxS and I just discovered they exist. However, I can't help with where they are yet or how to find out where they might be located. I'm pretty sure Silverton is very OHV friendly, their economy depends on it.

Note that, at this time, SxSs are NOT plateable here.

It is if you get on 160 and complete the loop, but you can do an out and back (as with the nice trail that you posted) in a UTV....
