That's awesome. How are the trails up there? I did some mountain biking in Copper Harbor but never checked out the atv trails. And happy anniversary.

I hope to very soon. I need to venture further north. It seems that the farther north I go, the lower my blood pressure gets.
I hear ya!!! That's why we live here! We ride from home most always, no end to the trails to explore.

I'd like to hit the u.p. everyone I've spoke to said it's confusing as to witch trails are witch. I'm in southern wisconsin. But go to hurley frequently. How far up and what area is best in the u.p.
I like the State Forest trails as I live in the east central part of the UP, mostly all open trails around here. Unlike the National Forest roads and trails, some are open and some are closed and makes it confusing to get around. There is a very active club in the western part of the UP, MyTrales, that have opened a lot of trails and have excellent signing and maps, that's in the area east of Hurley. We usually ride that area in the fall for color tour, late Sept. to early Oct. I'm always open for a ride, contact me any time.

Hay Riverrat, glad to see another Michigander on here! I have a cabin in the Gaylord area 45 min south of the bridge. We have trail #4 right outside our cabin door. My wife and I have talked about going up to the UP to ride. You make it sound even better! BTW love to see a black lab, great dog! We have two black labs ourselves.

You're an 11/2 hrs from us, come join us for a ride sometime. Do your labs like to ride, ours loves it, he's one reason we went with p1kd.

They do, but usually in the front passenger side one at a time. We're working on it! we need some harnesses. There litter mates so there a little but more busy than a single lab lol. We should get together sometime for sure.

Hello Riverrat.
Very nice. Can you help me? We go to Lake Co MI and ride the trail systems there as well as the county roads. We love to ride the hard sandy co roads and look around. We have put over a thousand miles on the 700 in that county. The Michigan fall is incredible and I have the week of the 9th of Oct off and would love to explore the UP and can change week. Never been there. I want to ride county roads and trails, go golf a time or two (drive truck), hit a casino and buffet (drive truck), see some water (preferably from cabin), and above all just relax and view fall. Any suggestions? Thanks so much and all help on the thread is good but I can take it PM if the mods would prefer.
We have all that stuff in this area!! I diffently can help you out!! The 8th of Oct. should be good for color, every year is different. One area you may what to look into is the Bay Mills Casino, nice hotel on Lake Superior, great golf course, excellent buffet,( Fri. crab legs and prime rib) and you can ride your Honda from the parking lot. This is in the little village of Brimley Mi. about 50 mi north of the Mackinaw bridge. That's just one of many options.
Thanks so much exactly what I was looking for. I'm exploring the area and I see most of the counties in the UP allow county road access for riding. We want a cabin with a view that we can unload the Honda when we get there and ride and load it when we leave. We also like those jump in the truck and go see this and that.
Check out Drummond Island especially if you want to golf as well. Their course is humongous and very secluded.

Thanks Bennboyd! Welcome to the forum and I'm checking it out. Michigan is so beautiful in the fall and we played Arcadia Bluffs last year and WOW that is one awesome place to play.
