This is an off topic thread.
My wife and I are planning to be in Delacroix Louisiana this weekend. I have no idea where to fish or how to fish the area. I'd love a waypoint or two just to get me started.

Any of you guys able to help?

What will you be fishing for?

If you're wanting redfish, you'll have to troll and look for movement. Follow the baitfish. The fishing won't be very good unless there's a lot of tide movement. So if the water is still, it'll be a long day. Find moving water and they'll hit from sun up till 11:00.

If water is still, find some rip rap and fish shrimp. And you'll get some reds as well as who knows what else.

You may catch some specs if you see birds diving or find some moving water. I've had good luck with small spinners and white grubs. Pull them fairly fast and don't let up when they bite cause they'll spit the hook quick.

The trick is finding moving water, I've seen the tide come in and out of those bayous so fast it makes white water and you can hear it. I was just down there a couple weeks ago and with in a short boat ride of where you'll be.

Good luck and show us some pics.

We had a decent trip. It was cut short but we still had a day to fish. We fished at Hopedale since I didn't know where to begin around Delacroix.
