Built a little cheap roof the other day just enough to keep the sun off. Total cost at Home Depot was about 40$. Used 3/4 plywood and 4 u bolts. Haven’t finished it yet still gonna paint and trim down the u bolts. For the price I can’t complain!

It’s not the prettiest thing but I’ll tell you it works great!

Not sure about Canada, around here you can get a ¼” sheet of HDPE for about $50 it’d last a LOT longer than plywood.
