Stock shocks are terrible for any kind of decent trail riding. I bought a set of Fox shocks for the pioneer earlier this summer but I was not satisfied with the performance. Even with dual speed compression, it was still too harsh. I found the springs too stiff and not enough rebound damping.

So I sent everything back and got a set of Elka Stage 5 shocks. Fully adjustable, low, high speed compression, rebound, preload. Tuned by Elka for my riding style and weight.

I have high expectations from these shocks and can't wait to try them out.

They are not the cheapest, but for the type of riding I do, whenever I want to go ride with the kids, I needed the top of the line. I really hope they live up to my expectations.
