My side by side evolution has gone from a RZR, to a P500, to a Wolverine, and now I have decided to reach the pinnacle with a P1000-5. IMO, this is the most advanced, solid SxS available - period. Love banging through the gears. The feel and look of this machine takes me back to PawPaw's '63 Wyllis. When it downshifts it's just like downshifting in my old Jeep or Samurai. Love how much it advances the feel from an ATV to a Jeep-like feel. To each his own, but I love the things others have complained about - the upshifting, the downshifting, the feel of the gears. I can't say enough good things about it. Time to load it out. Awesome ride!

Are you the "500" keep hearing Joey talk about? If you are, we are bound to meet in person one day lol. Great looking rig. And I agree with the stuff you like especially the gears shifting. Never been a fan of super smooth (one reason I don't care for the wife's Altima with CVT tranny).

Same here. Riding with Joey is fun so having at least 3 would be even better.

So are you changing your handle from "500" to "1000"?

Went out to the farm.
Need to order a skid plate.
Trail Armor? What's he best?

I would stay with 1/2" and not try one that's 3/8".

As for which brand, pick one that suites your needs. I picked trail armor because I will ride in the mud and I wanted the drain holes.

I like the TA due to same reason, but more so because it seems it would let air flow a little better as well.

Do you find the TA you have is strong enough to support the weight of the unit if it were to take a load on the skid between the side step rail and the frame? Referring to the span on skid that would have no frame or rail helping to carry the weight if it were to sit down on it - if that makes sense...

I am not sure how much weight it could hold where there is no support but I do know that the underside of my skid plate are scratched and dented beat up pretty good and they have not failed yet.
