I have a roof- mounted light bar, and want to install a second one I pulled from behind the grill on my pickup. The factory headlights are almost useless, even with upgraded led bulbs.

I’m trying to figure out if on the bottom of the EMP windshield (less mud, easier mounting & wiring, drill 3 holes and put the connectors where easy to disconnect and open the windshield) or fabricate a bracket above the front bumper (more work, more dirt down lower, raised snowplow will block if I ever plow snow in the dark).

Any reason to ‘go low’ before I start drilling in the EMP windshield?

I think it will look better under the windshield as long as it doesn’t cause a glare when it’s on.

I agree with both above. Maybe you run a jumper wire and see what it looks like under the windshield at night. I think it would be in the way/blocked on the bumper if you were plowing.

Thanks. I need to jumper it and see if there’s any reflection under the windshield. You can’t have too much light.

I tried it last night, no reflection on the hood. How much additional light I’ll get- I don’t know. I’m figuring I can aim one closer and one farther away.

…. All it costs is 3 holes in the windshield to try.

2 holes and run the wire under for now. I connected the upper light bar to the 40A rated dash switch with no issues. Adding another, I need to pick up a relay tomorrow.
