I know some of you guys talked about front racks. Strongmade has them on their website for 185.00.Maybe Jackal can load the pictures for me. Their quality is very good.

I'm tempted to try this.

Already got SM bumper and stick stoppers, so I know the quality.

But from what I see online, it looks like you might have to unbolt the basket (and possibly the mounts) to gain under hood access.

From carefully looking at the picture it looks like there is juuust enough room to remove the hood with the basket in place, but I would call them just to be certain.

Nope, you would have to have either a split windshield or a fold down windshield.

I hate to revive an old thread, but I am considering this rack to hold a BOSS 8" tube & some other gear and really need to be able to get under the hood, did anyone try one of these yet? Can you get the hood off?

It's a total obstruction when driving, and even if the hood could be slipped out from under it, the basket would still prevent access to anything below. Not the greatest idea, IMO.

I think I will make a smaller one that hinges up out of the way. I don't want sides or for it to be very big, but I want a place to park the Speaker tube. I guess I could make holes in the hood and have legs come up from the cross member under the hood to cradle it...hmm.

Thanks.

I put an 8" tube in the toolbox behind me firing forward. It's a powered sub. Not a fan of the rack either.
