Thanks for posting this SPC….The two big take aways from the link and the sub link is that these eventualities are brought on largely by user disrespect for common sense and the rules. Namely remaining on established trails and following the ‘pack it in pack it out’ rules….
This hobby use to have a lot less public appeal, but Jeep trailing and rock crawling and SXSing has exploded in the last decade and there’s so many more users today, and not all of them are “officianados” of the great outdoors and conservationist minded…
Similar has happened in a couple American cities that once extended the privilege of using SXS’s inside city limits only to now be banned due to user disrespect for the residency….
It’s not a political issue really at all. We all have to participate in this hobby respectfully or we’ll see increasing restrictions…
And SPC, ‘Share the trails’ that you’ve linked to here is a great advocacy group that we all can easily participate in to help perpetuate access….👍
