Most of the ones that all 8 were replaced were hard to start after sitting overnight.Seems like A's in the 94 and 95's,then B's in 96-99.5's then 7 D's and a EE in #8 on 99.5 and up.
I'm not a diesel guy. Don't have the knowledge, tools, or experience, but I prep used cars for a lot here, and the boss bought a 2000 E450 with utility bed, so I'll give it a try. 30 minutes on Google and I'm a diesel expert, of course.

Has a miss, and CCT says #6 isn't doing it's part...and the old injector disconnecting says the same. PERDEL is also around 4-5 compared to 1-2 on the rest. Buzz test sounds good.
Boss grabbed a diesel compression tester from HF just to find out it doesn't work on later 7.3's. So we make an adapter from a grease gun whip.
Ford doesn't give compression specs because...well, they're ford, but consensus is around 375 for a healthy mill. #6 is 370, and slightly higher than 4/8. So at that point, I feel something is off with the mechanical part of the injector, and make the call while reminding the boss I am NOT a diesel mechanic.
Seems like I made the right one. Running good now. Still some exhaust leaks and needs a radiator.

2006 Dodge Stratus repo. Slow crank, even with 2 batteries. Starter looks new. Assuming makes an ass out of u and me, so I put it up and find the culprit:
20190807 140554

A/C clutch is locked solid.
20190807 151950

I'd hate to think some body did a starter and didn't bother to see if the engine rotated by hand...

To make matters worse it was out of gas, and I went to pump some in and found that the rubber filler hose had been sliced and the gas stolen.

Just a day in the shop...

Well DG sounds like you fixed the missing problem. As far as exhaust leaks there were 2 main problems, either the donut gaskets at the rear where the exhaust manifolds feed the turbo or some exhaust manifold bolt heads have broken off. Those manifolds do not have gaskets from the factory.

@DG Rider, your right Ford will not have the compression specs, it’s an International. You have to look it up in the International Harvester/Ford Engine manual, it’s not Fords fault;) 375ish is about right on that. sounds like one of the 4 O ring gaskets on the injectors that can ware out over time. You can order the gasket sets. When you pull the injectors repair and reinstall them, you need to bleed the high pressure oil rail at the top. Then Manually Armstrong crank the engine a minimum of 4 revolutions I always did 6 just for spite to get the oil out of the cylinders before you start it cuz the compression is so great you will snap a rod. Just some friendly advice.

Well this sure makes my camper van look cheap. Can’t exactly load a Pioneer in the back but that dirtbike says he can party. Damn cool rig!

Be curious to watch that dirtbike get loaded. That is quite the distance from the ground. I wonder if the rack is on a lift system.

That didn’t dawn on me. I was looking as went by and rack did appear to be solid. Must have a ramp, but that is pretty high that’s for sure

Interesting...it said Ford on the grill:rolleyes:.

I actually knew it was International, so I tried to keep my Ford blame in check. Always heard the 7.3's were pretty good.

Thanks for the advice. That's the kind of stuff a diesel guy knows that I don't. Fortunately, I know the oil/fuel ran down into the cylinder, so I cranked it over with the glow plug out. Also didn't see any damage to the o rings. I was kinda worried it was maybe something with the hp oiling, but seems to be doing fine.

@Mopower58 your dead on with the exhaust leaks.

Thanks,I have worked on many in my time. If you do decide to change injector o rings I always used Alliant instead of the Ford ones. Same orings at half the price. Next time you replace an injector. have everything disconnected with the reman lubed up and ready to go in, then real fast take the old one out and insert the reman. No draining, pumping, etc. A whole lot quicker, if you have any more problems don't hesitate to ask. Powerjokes and Cummins is all I did for my last 15 years.

Will do. Between you and @Remington I'm sure you guys got it covered.
It was my 1st injector, so wanted to take my time, so really didn't know what to expect. Maybe snakes jumping out of the hole...lol! Wasn't bad at all. Maybe this whole diesel thing is ok.

Next on the agenda: PT cruiser head is back from the machine shop. Mr exhaust valve and Mr Piston got in a fight. Mr Piston won...
