She had a thing against movie theaters for some reason. Once...probably in my late teens, a buddy and I were going to see something. She ask me what would happen if the Lord came back while I was in there. I told her he would probably get in free, and she got all bent out of shape.

She tended to talk more than actually punish you for following the devil's way, and to her credit, she raised 10 kids, 1 grandchild (me), and one other gc for several years. She was a hateful old b**** some of the time, but I know that she loved me to do what she did.
And TBH, I did have a much better childhood with her than I would have had with mom. I remember going to stay the night with mom, and she being so broke they had to use newspaper as toilet paper. Fortunately, she finally got things right about 30 years ago, and in her elder years is trying to be a good mom.

No. I've actually never seen that movie...

I was actually raised by granny. From what I know of the movie, that character seems very much like granny, though. She raised me because (presumably) momma was a dirty little whore for having a baby out of wedlock. Wanted to out me on the right path...

Yea! I know, sad! Frickin Meth Heads! Had a young kid working with us for 3 years, was a good worker, he's married to a poor white trash wife and has two little girls, she's always been a Meth Head and drug him into it. There's no reasoning with a Meth Head, cut your ties quick and move on.

I don’t understand it either Smitty, I’ve known a few people that got strung out on that crap. One died and the other ruined his life, went from a successful career guy to a junkie living on people’s couches in 6 months.

There were some kids in our neighborhood that were just a bunch of little assholes when I was younger; a group of 3. Always picking fights, destroying property, disrespectful little pricks. Anyway, one of them got killed trying to rob an old man at knifepoint about 10 years ago. Guy he pulled the knife on shot him 5 times in the chest from about 5' away with a .357. I was working in the ER when he came in, good riddance I say. They said he was doped out of his mind when toxicology came back. Fast forward a few years and another died of an OD after he stole the drugs from someone he beat up behind a gas station; karma is King. My sister called me last week to say the last of the 3 died of a heroin OD at 32 years old. Glad it could take these scumbags out but it is sad to see what Meth and opioids do to people that just make a poor decision and can't get away from it.
