I had considered that.. and that’s essentially what that $800 version is. I just thought I could save some cabinet space by going top mount.
Personally, I despise top mount sinks. Wiping off counter top spills into the sink just becomes a pita. I understand the space premium, but the day to day clean up is worth it to lose the storage. Maybe I'm just a clumsy slob though.

That’s a good point.. I just figure it will mostly be used for hand washing, brushing teeth and occasional drink. My plan is to run a dc pump to it and just uses a couple 5 gallon water Jerry cans for my tanks. I may plumb a hook up out with a valve to swap between pump and site water. It obviously won’t have hot water. At least not yet.
