Cliff notes: Bones weren't human. Pants had tons of DNA but it was mostly male. Not unusual for miners to leave junk clothes at the bottom...BUT, apparently, these had burn or bleach marks, so there is some speculation that the husband may have tossed them to cover evidence, so an attempt to get DNA from his family is underway (the sister Jenifer will certainly do this).

So the end? Not quite....
Apparently there are plans to check another site...in Idaho.
So the big theory has always been that he hid her body in a mine somewhere, partly based on comments he made before the incident.

However, there are many, including the guy who did the Cold podcast, that believe he stashed her body, then after the 1st police interview he realized his plan wasn't going to work, and went and moved the body elsewhere. 800 mysterious miles on a rental car in 2 days, and an odd stop in Idaho on the interstate over a canal in his own van after a tracker was installed are suggestive of this, along with other stuff. Apparently, Sparks is planning to dredge that canal in an upcoming episode. Should be interesting 🤔
