Saw this on way back from Denver yesterday. Unimog radio truck turned camper. It had a bright neon green beach cruiser bicycle strapped to the front. Stood out like a sore humb on the trucks dark green paint. Overlanders.....

Not sure I understand what you mean. Are you saying forward axle? If so, mine is only a single axle.

wrap a strap around the axle and pull it forward to keep the axel in it's original position as much as possable

Fork, what a day.....whew, I’m glad that’s over for now. I went and purchased new leaf springs for the trailer. After trying to fit the first one in, nothing else would line up. So, I measured the older bad spring only to find out the guy sold me the wrong springs. He gave me 27.5” when I needed 25.5” . An easy mistake and mismeasuremnet. So I went back and got the correct length and everything went in smoothly. It was much easier to center everything because there is a nut and bolt on the top and bottom of the springs which line up with the center hole on the bottom U-bolt bracket as well as a hole on the bottom of the axel. The fender had some serious damage as well as the driver side light. So I replaced the light and bent the fender back into place as best as I could for now. It’s all snug as a bug on a rug...I did also purchase a new tire and remounted the spare. At first befor I really got going I had put a log under the trailer in case the Hi-Lift jack had a failure. I dint feel comfortable with that so I picked up a couple of Jack Stands for safety. I forgot I also had my red floor Jack with me which was very helpful to raise and lower the axle as needed. I am very thankful to have done this myself. It was only six nuts and bolts to deal with. Plus my tire iron came in handy loosening the old nuts from the bad leafspring. Freaking good day! Proud of myself am I! I didn’t get to the other side yet as I was running out of daylight and the temps dropped, so I called it a good time to stop. For now.....

did you greese the bolts that go through the sleeve on the spring to help prevent corrosion

No idea I was supposed to...Maybe when I do the other side I’ll go back and grease the one I already did. Thanks for the suggestion.

anytime buddy. if you have a chance look up corrosion x online that stuff is amazing it works on pretty much anything including electronics it worth every penny

You where probably watching the Alabama, Arkansas game Saturday and It was me! We have been rebuilding our football program for at least 12 years, think we've had three different coaches and two different athletic managers. but a least we scored 31 points against Alabama, that there average is thirteen point on the opposing team! Think we showed the rest of the SEC there weakness??????
