What in the heck is that?Would these be safe using correct or close fitting linchpin / receiver hitch pin or even high grade bolt/View attachment 324764 wing nut? I'd rather skip the hammering.
Im glad u said it first buddy! 😂What in the heck is that?
I've come up with some uses, none practical though?Im glad u said it first buddy! 😂

Hell yeah! I usually use a D ring on my SD hitch. might get me some of those instead. Kinda thought they might be for something like that.Several sizes available, also for linking chains. Apparently useful to Ford trk owners with oval safety chain slots
? Commonly used, but they suck? I don't understand. If they suck why commonly used? NO Bashing , just curiousWhat are you trying to accomplish?
These are commonly used on Ford trucks as stated above. The hitches suck for using trailer chains.
Have you found them to be of use in wheeling? A quick connect would be useful, but not so a semi permanent hammering connectWe use them on our safety chains at work

No I personally don't see a use for riding but they are very good for their intended purpose.Have you found them to be of use in wheeling? A quick connect would be useful, but not so a semi permanent hammering connect

Guys attach the hammer locks to make hooking up easier. Install once and forget about them .
^^^^This^^^^. I use a hard shackle I have unlimited access at work from the smallest to some you don't want to lift.Use a soft shackle or standard steel u shackle for connecting to the machine.
Mostly learning and exploring items I might facepalm myself for not having , after the fact . I learn more by picking you members experienced brains then picking any part of myself. No I personally don't see a use for riding but they are very good for their intended purpose.

OK, Very good point. ThanksI've seen them used in mining applications. If they get water and mud in them that hammer lock will rust and the only way you can remove the pin is with a torch.
